Bhardwaj noted that he retained Bond's theme, but incorporated his own elements to make the film a dark comedy. He said, "I had previously taken liberties with Shakespeare. Naturally, when you adapt a story, your vision also comes in it. But I have remained honest to its essence". [8] He included Keemat Lal (who plays a police officer in all Bond's stories), although the character is not in the original story. Bhardwaj decided to include him in the film as an homage to Bond, explaining that he took liberties with characters' names and traits. [8] [12] Bond also had to devise Indian methods of killing the husbands, which he found challenging: "The challenge was devising seven ingenious ways in which she could kill her husbands without being suspected. And she does it successfully, until towards the end". [12]

Susanna's second husband—Jamshed Singh Rathod (John Abraham), who renames himself Jimmy Stetson after their marriage—is a singer whose flaw is pride. The marriage begins well, but Jimmy becomes successful and misuses his new-found fame. He steals songs, dallies with other women and becomes dependent on drugs. Susanna wants to be lucky in love the second time; she tries to wean him from his addiction, but he continues in secret. She gives up, disposing of him with a heroin overdose. Police investigators find footprints near his body indicating that a person with six toes is the murderer.

The seventh and final original track on the album is the dark disturbing “Yeshu” sung with evil sounding aplomb by Rekha Bhardwaj. The track is probably most notable for featuring strings played by Bombay Film Orchestra. The music is dark, the vocals are dark, and the strings add to that feeling. Not a bad track by any means, but certainly one that does not have much repeat value (unless you’re in a certain kind of mood). This is one that’s probably best listened to while watching the film to understand the context.

Now, that you’ve been lulled into a state of tranquility it’s time to WAKE YOU UP with some good ole fashioned rock ‘n’ roll! “O’Mama” takes vocalist KK back to his rock roots in a grandiose way. It’s classic rock, which brings the house down once the guitar licks and drums get going. KK’s howling of “O’Mama” will send a chill down your spine. Play that air guitar and rock on!

Lust – Pyar Ki Keemat – Keemat Lal was plain lusty. Period. He wanted Susanna; Susanna wanted no enquiries against her for mysterious circumstantial deaths of her husbands. Need based relationship. Death by Viagra. Need I say more!!

Pride – Adamkhor Major – Edwin was conflicted between his past pride, a honoured army major, and the present, helpless disabled person. He expressed his despair in the form of wrath on his beautiful wife who served him and loved him unconditionally. It was his pride that was killing the relationship and hence the murder. The murder is in the form of a cannibal attack, I think panther. He is murdered by Susanna with the help of her maid, butler and stable boy. A group of lions is also called pride… just saying!!
